Sign Language Interpreting and Real-Time Captioning (CART) Services
Sign language interpreting services are available as an accommodation for d/Deaf or hard of hearing students. Interpreters at the PGµç×Ó¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ have the training and ability to adapt to each student’s preferred method of communication, ranging from American Sign Language to a contact variety sign language. These services are not limited to the classroom. With sufficient notice, interpreting services may be arranged for study groups, work placements, or other campus activities in consultation with the Academic Success Centre.
Live Captioning Services
Live captioning services (sometimes known as Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART)) are available as an accommodation for deaf or hard of hearing students. Services may be arranged for synchronous lectures, seminars, and labs. With sufficient notice, real-time captioning may also be arranged for practicum placements and other experiential learning opportunities in consultation with the Academic Success Centre.
